We made the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek itinerary short by removing arrival and departure from Kathmandu and two traveling days between Kathmandu and Pokhara.

It allows us to offer a base price for the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek and lets trekkers add more days as per their wish. You will start the trek from Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna region.

In around an hour's drive, you will reach Birethanti, the starting point of the trek, and begin hiking to Ulleri. The trail goes through lush hills and pretty villages, crossing a few suspension bridges.

Many trekkers find this part of the trail most challenging. From Ulleri, the trail continues through rhododendron and pine forests to Ghorepani village. You can see stunning landscapes and breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and Fishtail.

Ghorepani Poon Hill trek in different seasons, and the best time

There are four seasons in Nepal. The weather, climate, and views are different in all four seasons.

Among them, spring and autumn are the best times to do any trek in the Himalayas because of the best weather, climate, and trail conditions.

Spring (March to May)

Spring is the season of flowers. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek route is bloomed with rhododendrons that make the scenery extremely gorgeous. Likewise, the mountains are also freshly covered with snow, so they also look exceptionally majestic.

Summer/monsoon (June to mid-September)

Summer/monsoon is not an ideal time to trek in terms of weather and climate.

Unless you are okay with a hot and humid climate, frequent rainfall, and muddy trails, trekking between June and mid-September can get quite challenging.

On a good note, the trails are empty, and the rainy scenery is magical in the mountains.

Autumn (late September to November)

Autumn is another famous trekking period. It is the season of festivals and crisp air. The stable weather and pleasant climate are perfect for trekking.

The mountain views are crystal clear, and the golden/brown color of autumn makes the landscapes quite mesmerizing. The Ghorepani Poon Hill trail is quite packed, though.

Winter (December to February)

Recently, winter treks have become popular in Nepal, and the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is one of the best options. Snowfall makes the trekking route nothing less than a heaven.

The mountain views can be obstructed on gloomy days. If you love winter seasons and quieter trails, you should trek between December and February.
